Michigan Autism Council


mother and sonThe Michigan Autism Council was announced on July 3, 2012 through an Executive Order No. 2012-11 by Governor Rick Snyder. The Executive Order created the Council under the Michigan Department of Community Health as an advisory body to review, adopt and implement the Michigan Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) State Plan.

The plan will provide comprehensive, lifespan supports to individuals with ASD and their families through access to information and resources, coordination of services and implementation of evidence-based practices. The Council is charged with updating the plan annually.
