How do I learn about crime victim notification?

In order to provide you with written notification information regarding a specific prisoner, you will need to complete a Crime Victim Notification Request form.  This form may be obtained through the Michigan Department of Corrections web site under the Victim Resources link  or from your local prosecuting attorney's office.  Under special circumstances, individuals who do not qualify under the definition of a "victim," may receive some notifications outlined in the Crime Victim's Rights Act.

If you wish to register, please complete the request form and return it to the Crime Victims Notification Office using the address listed on the form.  If you are unable to obtain the form through our web site, you may contact our office and we will mail you the request form.   Please ensure you provide the name of the prisoner including any additional information such as the prisoner's date of birth.  It is imperative you also provide both daytime and evening telephone numbers and keep them updated with us should they change.

Please feel free to contact the Crime Victims Notification office at the address below if you have any further questions or concerns.
