Objectives

  • To identify the needs of and problems impacting upon the migrant and seasonal farmworker population.

  • To research and document the issues related to the migrant and seasonal farmworker population.

  • To identify resources that are currently available.

  • To identify resources that need to be developed.

  • To identify strategies for securing the needed resources.

  • To establish target areas for action and create sub and ad hoc committees to respond to specific needs.

  • To develop action plans with specific assignments and timetables to achieve and/or advance each priority goal.

  • To establish a reporting system to monitor the progress of each sub and ad hoc committee.

  • To document the accomplishments and areas of concern of the Committee.

  • To share the Committee results with the migrant and seasonal farmworker community and appropriate state and federal department directors, Michigan congressional delegation, the state legislature and the Governor.
