The Assigned Support Statement, previously called the Quarterly Statement, provides a child support payment summary to Family Independence Program (FIP) and Medicaid families that:
-
Currently receive or used to receive a FIP grant from the state.
-
Still have money owed to the state.
-
Currently receive or used to receive Medicaid.
As of October 2008, the Assigned Support Statement is generated from the Michigan Child Support Enforcement System rather than the Department of Human Services Central Financials. Other changes provided in the October 2008 revision included:
-
Changes in the appearance and content of the statement.
-
Changes in the printing and mailing of the statement.
-
The custodial party (CP) on the child support case receiving the statement instead of the FIP grantee.
Additionally, Child Support staff now answer customers' questions about the statement instead of local office staff. The statement will be sent to families who have never received child support but have received or are currently receiving Medicaid.
