State of Michigan Request for Proposal: MI Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program
The Bureau of Energy Systems, DELEG has issued a Request for Proposals to administer an appliance rebate program in Michigan during calendar year 2010. A total rebate budget of $8,455,300 will be available to encourage residential consumers to purchase certain high efficiency appliances. The program options are: 1) refrigerators, clothes washers, and dishwashers; 2) propane furnaces and hot water heaters; 3) oil furnaces; and 4) solar hot water heaters. An applicant can propose to administer one program option, any combination of program options, or all four program options. There will only be one grantee for each program option and the grantee will implement the program option statewide. All appliances will be ENERGY STAR or better. The Low-Income & Energy Efficiency Fund (LIEEF) Grants The Customer Choice and Electricity Reliability Act, 2000 PA 141, authorized the creation of the Low-Income and Energy Efficiency Fund (LIEEF) administered by the Commission via grants to qualifying organizations. The purpose of the fund is to provide shut-off and other protection for low-income customers and to promote energy efficiency by all customer classes.

Response to DOE Funding Opportunity DE-FOA-000148, "Retrofit Ramp-up Program" Through this Request for Expression of Interest (REI), the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth (DELEG) seeks comments from potential partner communities for an application for funding to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) under Topic 1, Retrofit Ramp-Up Program, in funding opportunity announcement DE-FOA-000148 (FOA). The DELEG is requesting information from communities interested in serving as pilot locations and partnering with the DELEG in the grant application. This document will be the primary vehicle through which communities can present DELEG their information for consideration. However, it is not a formal request for proposals. The DELEG will use the information gathered through this REI process to inform on-going discussions with public and private sector collaborators, and final selection of community partners.
Request for Proposal: Michigan Energy Code Training Program
Up to $50,000 is available to deliver commercial and residential energy code training throughout the State of Michigan to building officials, plan reviewers, building inspectors, electrical inspectors, plumbing inspectors and mechanical inspectors. No match is required. Proposals are due Friday, October 16, 2009. The expected grant start date will be January 1, 2010 and grant completion date August 31, 2010. Nonprofit, pubic, and private entities or organizations are eligible to submit proposals. Request for Proposal: Solar and Wind Energy Outreach and Education
The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to obtain proposals from one or more non-profit or public organizations to conduct statewide outreach projects in Michigan to educate the public, businesses, and/or public institutions about 1) Solar Energy and 2) Wind Energy. These grants do not provide funds to directly purchase and install solar or wind energy systems. It is expected that two projects will be selected, one in each project area. An organization can only submit one proposal for each project area, but can submit proposals for both project areas. Each project can be up to $60,000. The activities in the proposed grant(s) will cover nine months from December 1, 2009 through August 31, 2010. Deadline for proposals is October 5, 2009.
National Ethanol Conference Scholarships The Renewable Fuels Foundation & Renewable Fuels Association are offering 10 scholarships to students pursuing studies in a field related to ethanol. This scholarship opportunity will cover the registration fee to the next National Ethanol Conference in Orlando, Florida in February 2010 (valued at $750). The deadline to apply is 11/30/09.
