The Hunt Creek Fisheries Research Station is a unit of the Research Section of Michigan DNR’s Fisheries Division. The station conducts research, evaluations, and assessment on inland waters throughout the state, although most studies are done on coldwater streams in the Northern Lower Peninsula (See Geographic Scope). Research studies are management-oriented, that is, they are intended to provide information useful for management and protection of inland aquatic resources.
The Hunt Creek Fisheries Research Station is not a full service DNR office, and thus can not assist the public with permit or license sales. The office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The nearest full service DNR office is the Gaylord Operations Service Center, 1732 West M-32, Gaylord, MI 49735. (989) 732-3541.
