Michigan State Parks and Recreation Areas will be celebrating its 90th anniversary on Saturday, June 20. Free cake and ice cream at 4 p.m. at most parks, plus fun activities for the entire family. Contact your local park for details.    

You know the NCAA Final Four is being held in Detroit, but did you know that Michigan's newest state park is, too?  Tri-Centennial State Park  is  located in the heart of Detroit's riverfront, offers access to the riverfront for anglers and trail users. This haven for urban adventurers is still a work in progress, but is an absolute must-see for anyone who loves Michigan. 

Construction on Michigan's most energy-efficient harbor, Straits State Harbor (formerly Mackinaw City State Dock), is nearly complete. The facility will use wind energy to power most of the facility, with eight on-site wind turbines, and buildings engineered to use natural light whenever possible.
