Governor Granholm Announces Appointments to Lake Superior State University Board of Control

LANSING - Governor Jennifer Granholm today announced the following appointments to the Lake Superior State University Board of Control: 

Patrick K. Egan of Brimley, chairman of the board of directors of the Little Rapids Corporation, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring January 27, 2016.  He succeeds Gary L. Wolfram whose term has expired.

Scot A. Lindemann of Holland, vice president of operations for JR Automation, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring January 27, 2016.  He succeeds Dean M. Altobelli whose term has expired.

The LSSU Board of Control is the governing body for the university.  The board oversees conduct of the university's affairs, has control of the university's property, and has the ability to fix tuition and other fees, appoint and/or remove personnel, and determine compensation to be paid for services and property. 

These appointments are subject to Section 6 of Article V of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963.  They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
