Whereas, Homelessness ends with a place to live; and,
Whereas, Each day, there are men, women, and children in the state of Michigan who are left on the streets because they do not have a place to call home; and,
Whereas, The Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness, the Michigan Homeless Assistance Advisory Board, and the Michigan Interagency Council on Homelessness are committed to providing housing for those in need in the state of Michigan; and,
Whereas, The theme of Homeless Awareness Week this year is "Bringing America Home." This yearly campaign helps to bring attention to this most troubling issue that cripples our state;
Now, Therefore, be it Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, governor of the state of Michigan, do hereby proclaim the week of November 15, 2009, Homeless Awareness Week in Michigan.
