I just wanted to drop you a quick message on this busy Thursday. It was a dreary morning in Southeast Michigan today while I greeted UPS workers in Livonia as they arrived for their sunrise shifts. It was great to see the smiling faces of hardworking Michiganians as they geared up for a day’s work.
I always enjoy talking to our Michigan workers face-to-face. It reminds me of the reason I strive to make my economic plan work for the Great Lakes state. I reiterated to them that I have a plan to protect their jobs, their pocketbooks, and their families. My economic plan is remaking Michigan to meet the challenge of the 21st century economy, while ensuring that we grow jobs today and jobs tomorrow. I also explained to many of the UPS workers that part of my plan is making it affordable for them to send their children to college. It is so important in this aggressive 21st century global economy that our kids have the tools they need to succeed.
Although the weather on this particular August day looks a little gloomy, the future of Michigan is looking bright. I believe the opportunities that lie ahead for our Michigan are full of hope. I will continue to work my plan, going anywhere and doing anything I can to bring more jobs to Michigan. As we forge ahead, the plan continues to produce results. Stay tuned…
