Employment Opportunity with the ORC

The Office of Racing Commissioner (ORC) is looking for equine veterinarians to fill a number of part-time positions during the 2008 horse racing season. Candidates selected would work at one or more of six Michigan racetracks as part of a larger ORC team that provides oversight to Michigan horse racing. Previous equine experience is required, but successful candidates would have an opportunity to learn the unique aspects of the position from current ORC Veterinarians.

The position also requires the flexibility to work some weekday and weekend afternoons and evenings in conjunction with the live racing schedule. Compensation is on a per diem basis at the rate of $300 per day. This position is a unique opportunity for an equine veterinarian who desires a part-time position to augment their current income, while working as part of a team in an interesting and exciting environment. Please contact Gary Post at the Office of the Racing Commissioner, (517) 241-1426.
