LANSING, June 11, 2003 Lottery officials announced that no winning
ticket correctly matched all six winning numbers – 14, 15, 23, 32, 52 and the Gold Mega Ball number 37 – in
the June 10, 2003 Mega Millions drawing, pushing the jackpot for June 13 to an estimated $115
million!
Three lucky Michigan Lottery players did correctly match the first five numbers
in that drawing to each win a $175,000 prize, however. Those winning tickets were sold at:
Grand Ledge Shell, 1016 E. Saginaw Hwy., in Grand Ledge; Orchard Sunoco, 4100 Orchard Lake Road,
in Orchard Lake; and Slaterville Market, 2602 Imlay City Road in Lapeer.
If one winning ticket matches all six numbers in Friday night’s drawing and the
player has selected annuity payments over 26 years, the $115 million jackpot would amount to pre-tax payments
of roughly:
- $4.42 million annually;
- $85,059 per week; or
- $12,151 per day!
For those who prefer to take their cash winnings up-front, it’s a pretty nice
payday as well. If one lucky cash-option player matches all six winning numbers, he or she will take
home a check for approximately $73 million (before taxes), the estimated present cash value of
Friday’s jackpot!
