LANSING, September 29, 2003 – Virginia Green of Garden City and Owen Stabler of Dearborn Heights are each a little richer after both matching all five numbers on two different tickets in the September 18 Michigan Rolldown drawing.  Each winner took home a $6,635 prize, before taxes.  The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 5, 8, 15, 21 and 30.

The total jackpot prize pool for the September 18 Michigan Rolldown drawing was $13,270, so each jackpot winner received $6,635, before taxes.  In total for the September 18 drawing, 14,294 winners shared $45,206 in prizes.  In addition to the two jackpot winners, 52 winners matched four numbers to win a $104 prize; 1,536 winners matched three numbers to win an $9 prize; and 12,704 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.

Green, a 70-year-old retiree, purchased the winning “easy-pick” ticket at Maple Drugs, 34500 Ford Road, in Westland.

She learned she had a jackpot-winning ticket after seeing the winning numbers broadcast on television.

“I could hardly believe my eyes upon seeing the winning number broadcast on television,” said Green.  “I was so excited to have a winning ticket that I cried for joy!”

Prior to turning in her winning ticket at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights, the lucky lady said she kept it in her purse at all times to ensure its safety.  She added that she plans to share her winnings with her children.

Stabler, the other lucky Rolldown jackpot winner, purchased the winning ticket at Dimitri’s Party Shoppe, 27338 W. Warren St., in Dearborn Heights.

The first Michigan Rolldown drawing was held on February 28, 2000.  Drawings are held six days a week – Monday through Saturday – at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager.  Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
