LANSING, March 22, 2004 – A Paw Paw woman recently had a very lucky day thanks to the Michigan Lottery!  Alma Sirrine is rolling in dough after matching all five numbers in the March 12 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win a $14,840 jackpot prize!  The winning numbers for that drawing were: 8, 17, 19, 27 and 30. 

In total for the March 12 drawing, 16,124 winners shared $50,505 in prizes.  In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 62 winners matched four numbers to win a $98 prize; 1,691 winners matched three numbers to win a $9 prize; and 14,370 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.

She purchased the winning “easy pick” ticket at Speedway #3562, 711 S. Kalamazoo St., in Paw Paw. 

The 63-year-old retiree learned she had a jackpot-winning ticket after picking up a winning number report from a local Lottery retailer.

“When I checked the numbers on my ticket and discovered I had won a jackpot prize, I couldn’t believe it!” exclaimed Sirrine.  “I am so excited to be a winner!”

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Wyoming, the lucky lady said she kept it in her wallet at all times to ensure its safety.  Sirrine, who enjoys playing bingo in her free time, added that she plans to save use part of her winnings to make home improvements and the remainder to pay bills. 

The first Michigan Rolldown drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held at 7:29 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager.  Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
