General Commission Meeting and Foreclosure Crisis Discussion Scheduled for May 19 in Saginaw

On Monday, May 19, 2008, beginning at 4:00PM, the Michigan Civil Rights Commission will host a general commission meeting, followed by a public forum at 5:30PM, at the Andersen Enrichment Center. The center is located at 120 Ezra Rust Drive, Saginaw, MI 48601.

During the public forum, the Michigan Civil Rights Commission (MCRC) will partner with area organizations and leaders to discuss the predatory lending and foreclosure crisis in Michigan. MCRC will also hear testimony from area residents with concerns regarding these issues.

Among the scheduled speakers for the forum will be Carol Brito, Business Development Representative for the Michigan State Housing Development Authority Division of Homeownership, Maryellen Lewis who is president of the Michigan Community Reinvestment Coalition and a member of the Board of Directors for the National Community Reinvestment Coalition.
