Promise Funding Eliminated in FY 2010 Budget
Pursuant to PA 132 of 2009, funding was not provided for the Michigan Promise Scholarship for the current Fiscal Year 2009-10. | MHESLA to Originate FFELP Loans for Academic Year 2009-10 
MHESLA will begin originating Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) loans August 3, 2009. All Stafford, PLUS and GRAD PLUS loans funded by MHESLA for Academic Year 2009-10 will be eligible for a 0.25% interest rate reduction for ACH payments. MHESLA's lender code is 825585 and it should be noted that this lender code uses Great Lakes loan servicing and guarantee.
| New Web Site for Total and Permanent Disability Discharge
A new Web site has been implemented for the Total and Permanent Disability
(TPD) discharge of Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program loans, William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program loans, Federal Perkins Loans, and the service obligation of Teacher Education Assistance for Higher Education (TEACH) Grants. The Web site serves as an online information resource center for the TPD Discharge process for borrowers, physicians, loan holders and veterans. |
