Annual Compliance Audits
A lender that makes Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) loans is subject to a compliance audit at least once a year. The audit must be conducted on a fiscal year basis by a qualified independent organization in accordance with audit standards governed by the U.S. Comptroller General. Lenders should consult the U.S. Department of Education to confirm lender auditing standards and requirements.
