Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land announced today that 2006 general election results for all Michigan counties are now online in a searchable database.
The database provides access to precinct-level returns for all state and federal offices and statewide proposals. That includes races for governor and other top state offices, the Legislature, Supreme Court, university boards and Congress.
"Voters, researchers and anyone else interested in the information can find out how a community voted on a particular race or issue," said Land, Michigan's chief elections officer. "This is an excellent source of election data and trends, and I'm pleased to make this information available in such a user-friendly format."
The database is at www.Michigan.gov/sos. Go to the "Elections in Michigan" link and then to the "Election Information and Results" section. It is titled "General Election Results by Precinct."
The database includes precinct-level returns for general elections dating back to 1998.
