Agency: Transportation

July 3, 2008 -- Pavement rehabilitation on two state highways, US-127 Business Route (BR) and M-61, in the city of Harrison, will begin on July 8, 2008. To complete this work (a multiple-course microsurfacing project) crews will be placing a mixture on top of the existing pavement to seal it and to correct rutting, minor surface irregularities and slippery surfaces.

The project on US-127 BR extends from Main Street north to Townline Lake Road, and on M-61 from Westlawn Street east to First Street and Main Street south to County Farm Road.

A minimum of one lane will be maintained in each direction on US-127 BR and M-61 for the duration of this project.

This $251,000 project will serve motorists by extending the life of the roadway and will promote safety by improving traffic flow and enhancing ride quality along US-127 BR and M-61 for many years to come.

For updates on this project, visit the list of statewide lane closures on the MDOT Web site at www.michigan.gov/laneclosures.
