PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will resume work on the I-94 Business Loop ramp bridge, which carries traffic to eastbound I-94. During routine maintenance work in July, MDOT crews discovered that the substructure of the bridge was not in good working order and made the decision to keep the bridge closed to traffic until a new repair could be designed, and bids could be taken on the project.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: The I-94 Business Loop will remain closed as it has been for the past two months. During certain stages of construction, short-term closures on I-94 will be necessary.
CUSTOMER BENEFIT: This $715,000 project will improve safety, as well as extend the life of the bridge.
